Qingpu District has completed the first phase of its 2025 bus network optimization, adjusting four key routes—Qingpu 30, Zhujiajiao 2, Jinze 5, and Jinze 6—to better serve areas with limited public transport coverage. The adjustments aim to enhance last-mile connectivity, reducing walking distances and travel time for residents.

AtSouth Songjian Road-Jiadian Roadbus stop in Chonggu Town, commuters now walk just5minutes to reach Qingpu 30, compared with 1.2 kilometers previously. The route extension adds3new stops along Songjiang Road-Maojiajiao Road,South Songjian Road-Jiadian RoadandSouth Songjian Road-Fenglian Road, serving over 1,400 residents in nearby communities, with population expected to reach 4,000.

The district’s Construction and Management Committee undertook extensive consultations, including public feedback and local forums, to finalize the plan. Officials emphasize that the optimization not only improves daily commuting but also enhances access to Metro Line 17 and mitigates traffic congestion during peak hours. Qingpu’s approach demonstrates how scientific planning and community engagement can elevate public transport efficiency and convenience.
