New cross-border bridge shortens journey between Shanghai and Jiangsu Release time:September 04,2025

The structure of theXueluoyang Bridge,linking Shanghai's QingpuDistrictwith Suzhou’sWujiangDistrictin Jiangsu Province, hasbeen completedand isexpectedto befinishedwithin thisyear.

This bridge is a key component of the eastward extension of Pugang Road,a major cross-regional road in the WaterTownLiving Room, a demonstration zone for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. The implementation of the Pugang Roadeastextensionproject has significantly improved cross-border transportation. In the future, the drive from Jinze in Qingpu to Fenhu in Wuzhong will take only five to six minutes.

Straddling the border between Qingpu and Wuzhong, the 480-meter-long Xueluoyang Bridge is designed as a nine-span deck arch bridge, with its main span reaching 280 meters. It is currently the longest cross-provincial bridge in the demonstration zone.

The bridge was joined at the center of Xueluoyang Lake, right on the Shanghai-Jiangsu provincial boundary. In the future, it will become a landmark feature of the WaterTownLiving Roomand, together with the SquareHallandWater Courtyard, form the core landscape of the demonstration area.

In addition to accommodating motor vehicles, the Xueluoyang Bridge also supports non-motorized transport. Both sides of the bridge are equipped with shared pathways for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles, making it easy for cyclists and pedestrians to cross the border.
