Qingpu District unfolds an enchanting scroll of water town scenery with the theme “A Glimpse of Jiangnan” at the 6th Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo, featuring the display of intangible cultural heritage and performances.

It has established four sections, presenting a cultural map that highlights the charm of Jiangnan, Zhujiajiao’s profound historical heritage, unique natural resources, and high-quality cultural industry development.

The interactive woodblock prints experience area revives traditional craftsmanship, inviting visitors to have a try and experience the living inheritance of ICH and the water town up close.

Centered on water as the medium, the “Seeking Jiangnan” section vividly presents the “root of Wu and Yue” region – a place of interconnected streets, bustling commerce, beautiful landscapes, and outstanding scholars.

On-site display and performances of ICH programs such as water bamboo leaf plaiting, He’s colored lanterns, and single-piece cheongsams offer an immersive experience of Jiangnan water town charm.

Theprofound cultural heritage and rich artistic lifeof Zhujiajiao Ancient Townarealsoshowcased.

Highlights include the immersive garden-style Kunqu Opera “The Peony Pavilion” and the unique “live water music shows” at Water Heavens, demonstrating Zhujiajiao’s distinctive flavor.

On the opening dayof November 20, a performance oftianshange(field folk songs), a national-level ICH project, was staged.

The “New Scenery of Jiaoli” section features a 3D holographic cabin, which presents the future planning blueprint of the ancient town with a digital experience.

Interactive experiences of the night cruise light show along the waterfront art corridor are available as well.
