Xiayang's Guochao Festival offers cultural fun through year-end Release time:November 25,2025
The second Xiayang Subdistrict Guochao (China-chic) Culture Festival kicked off at Qingpu Lianyi Loquat Garden on Friday, featuring the display of intangible cultural heritage, fun games and mouthwatering specialties.
The opening dance ignited the on-site atmosphere with taichi and singing performances and other programs staged in turn, showing the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. Musical instrument performance, face changing, and guochao fashion show perfectly integrated tradition and modernity, winning bursts of applause from the audiences.
At the Qingpu intangible cultural heritagebazaar, 10 ICH projects including Jiangnan crocheting and Qingpu water town colorful lanterns were displayed, allowing visitors to experience the charm of traditional culture.
The Jiangnan water town agricultural market featured products from the loquat garden and rose garden, enabling people to taste delicious food while experiencing the vigorous development of agriculture.
Visitors also enjoyed the fun of playing games like lucky ring tossing and cuju (ancient Chinese football), as well as shadow puppet shows.
The guochao check-in and stamp collection activity, a highlight of the cultural festival, will last until December 31. People can participate in various experiences at designated cultural and tourism venues or sports venues, or make purchases at consumption venues to collect stamps and exchange them for guochao-themed gifts.
With culture as a bridge, Xiayang Subdistrict has been actively promoting the integration of agriculture, traditional culture, cultural and tourism experience, commercial resources, sports vitality and exhibition markets, with the goal to create a comprehensive cultural feast that interweaves tradition and trend, and combines experience and consumption, local officials said.
Since the beginning of this year, the subdistrict has hosted a series of brand activities such as the Xiayang Rose Festival, Loquat Festival and “Xiayang Cup” Badminton Tournament, and the opening of the new Helong ArtMuseumhas injected fresh vitality into regional development.
