The nine-day "extended holiday" of the 2026 Spring Festival brought a consumption boom to Qingpu District.
During the holiday period, the district received a total of 2.1674 million visitors, a year-on-year increase of 20.44 percent, achieving comprehensive tourism revenue of 1.11 billion yuan(US$161.57 million), up 23.46 percent from the previous year.
Centered around five major trendy scenes—ancienttowns,countryside,outlets,flowervalley, andresidences,Qingpu facilitated a vibrant collision between traditionalnewyear customs and modern recreational experiences.
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town dazzled visitors with its illuminated landscapes complementing the "Tuxiaobu"rabbitlantern displays, strengthening its brand as the "first stop for inbound tourists to China's ancient towns." During the holiday, the town received 380,500 visitors, a 24.42 percent increase year-on-year.
Liantang Ancient Town unfolded three thematic scrolls featuring revolutionarystudy tours, traditional intangible cultural heritage, and green rural landscapes. Jinze Ancient Town leveraged thecultural and tourismshort drama "Nian Jun" to attract visitors, launching a "Bridge Town Blessings"check-in activity.
Under the theme "Happiness + Horse," Bailian Qingpu Outlets partnered with over 400 brands to offer significant discounts, complemented by cultural performances including intangible heritage horse-dance parades andnewyear concerts. A two-way benefits program between hotels and the outlets was fully implemented, connecting 20 boutique hotels andB&Bsto facilitate mutual consumer traffic.
The 15-daynewyearflowermarket at Hongqiao Flower Valley received 36,000 visitors and generated over 20 million yuan in revenue, burnishing its reputation as Shanghai's largestnewyear flower market landmark.
