Singapore firm first to benefit from cross-border digital registration Release time:March 03,2026

IFB China, a Singapore-invested enterprise in Qingpu District, has become the first beneficiary of a fully online registration service for foreign-invested enterprises based on cross-border digital identity authentication.

The Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Supervision and the Shanghai Municipal Data Bureau have taken the lead nationwide in launching this application scenario.

IFB China is invested by Singapore-based IFBH Ltd, whose flagship product is the popular Thai coconut water brand“if Coconut Water.”After participating in the China International Import Expo for the first time last year, the company identified Shanghai as its core strategic city and ultimately chose to establish its presence in Qingpu's West Hongqiao Business District.

The implementation of this Shanghai-Singapore cross-border digital identity authentication enabled the company to obtain its business license completely online, significantly accelerating its transformation from an "exhibitor" at the CIIE to an "investor" in Shanghai.

The fully online registration service launched through the Shanghai-Singapore cross-border digital trust initiative has resolved the long-standing challenge of verifying electronic notarized documents. Singaporean enterprises can now complete registrations directly online without submitting paper notarized documents, substantially reducing the institutional transaction costs of cross-border investment.

"As an overseas company without management personnel in China, this cross-border registration experience pleasantly surprised us. From document submission to facial recognition and official sealing, everything could be completed online,” said Xie Xinji, legal representative of IFB China, who is based in Singapore. “After finishing all procedures, we obtained our business license in about two days—extremely convenient and time-saving."

To continuously support foreign-invested enterprises, Qingpu District launched operations at the West Hongqiao Enterprise Comprehensive Service Center at the end of 2025, providing comprehensive follow-up services across the entire business chain for enterprises establishing operations in the area.
