The history of Qingpu is ancient and time-honored. 7000 years ago, it emerged as land, and 6000 years ago, our forefathers inhabited this land, toiling and prospering, creating a splendid ancient culture. The "Songze Culture" represents the primitive societal culture of the Lake Taihu region during the Neolithic era, thereby confirming that Qingpu is the earliest known human settlement discovered in Shanghai to this day.
In the twenty-first year of the Ming Jiajing era (1542), Qingpu county was established.
