Discover rich history of Jinze ancient bridges with QR code Release time:December 15,2023
Known as the "Museum of Ancient Bridges", Jinze Ancient Town in Qingpu District concentrates ancient bridges dating back to the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
Recently, metal plaques with QR codes were added to the cultural heritage protection signs beside the ancient bridges in Jinze. Even if local residents and visitors don't know much of these ancient bridges, by scanning the QR codes, they can learn about the bridges’ past and present.
Several years ago, Qingpu District developed the "Water Town Heritage" mini-program, which covers immovable cultural relics in Jinze Town, including seven ancient bridges. Tourists can access multimedia introductions including text, audio and video with the mini-program.
"In order to allow tourists to better understand the structure, construction techniques and historical significance of the ancient bridges, we have set up cultural heritage protection signs at the foot of each bridge and added QR codes on the upper right corner of the signs," said Zhu Mingjuan, general manager of Shanghai Jinze Tourism Development Co Ltd. "Now, tourists can easily learn about the past and present of Jinze ancient bridges by scanning the QR codes."
In addition, the "Water Town Heritage" mini-program has been upgraded to include an English version, providing bilingual online tour guide services for tourists.
