The 50th type of Shanghai Metro train - 17A02, was delivered to the warehouse of the Zhujiajiao base of Shanghai Metro recently. Currently, it is undergoing pre-operation testing and is expected to be put into operation on Line 17 at the end of April next year.

17A02, the latest model of Shanghai Metro, is a smart and environmentally-friendly train model. According to Shanghai Metro Maintenance Co Ltd, the train has adopted intelligent bolts in key parts, which can automatically monitor and warn against loosening bolts in critical parts.

The launch of the new model is also focused on the passenger experience with two charging ports in each carriage to cater to the demands of passengers who face insufficient battery power while travelling. Each charging port is equipped with a wireless charging board and two USB ports, capable of charging three phones at the same time.

The 17A02 model also upholds the concept of "green travel" with multiple environmental features.

Compared to the grey exterior color of the current Line 17 trains, the new model uses a refreshing and elegant grapefruit color, symbolizing eco-friendliness and low carbon.

It is equipped with environmental detection and air humidity detection devices to continuously monitor the air quality in the train. Additionally, an independent energy consumption monitoring record device has been added to help understand the actual energy consumption of the train and provide data support for subsequent energy-saving optimization strategies.
