Fifteen high-quality projects of smart manufacturing spaces at city level were signed at the Qingpu Investment Promotion Conference on Friday, with a total construction area of 1.174 million square meters and a total investment of 7.48 billion yuan (US$1.04 billion).

Among the 15 projects, many of the top projects in terms of total investment belong to the big health industry.

For example, the Eastern Life Harbor-Qingpu New City Industrial Park project, with a total investment of nearly 1.4 billion yuan, will be implemented by Shanghai Lingang Life Bay Qingpu New City Co Ltd to guide enterprises to explore the development of the full industry chain within the park.

In addition, the DNE Qingpu Life Science Industrial Park, with a total investment of over 1 billion yuan and a total construction area of 213,000 square meters, focuses on the production of biological medicine and high-end medical equipment, providing comprehensive services such as research and development testing and trial production for the full life science industry chain.

The Kangpu Life Science Industrial Park, with a total investment of 950 million yuan, will introduce leading enterprises in the biological medicine and life health fields to create a leading life science industry cluster.

Big health industry is one of the three leading industries in Qingpu District, with the core industry being the biological medicine industry. By 2023, Qingpu District has been home to more than 100 biological medicine enterprises above designated size.
