Tens of thousands of colorful and vibrant moth orchids are in full bloom at the Shanghai Meichen Moth Orchids Plantation Base in Liantang Town, resembling a colorful sea. Among them, dyed moth orchids have become this year's bestsellers, priced at twice that of regular moth orchids, at around 60 yuan (US$8.37) per plant.

The base uses white or other light-colored moth orchids for these plants and then uses dyes to water them to change their color. The commonly used colors include blue, orange and cyan.
