Spring Festival tourism booms in Qingpu District Release time:February 21,2024

During this year's Spring Festival, Qingpu District received a total of over 796,300 visitors, marking an 89.35 percent increase compared to the previous year. The district also generated tourism revenue exceeding 557 million yuan (US$77.36 million), a 74.06 percent year-on-year increase.

The average room occupancy rate of the major resort hotels in the area during the first seven days of the holiday stood at 53.86 percent, showing a 15.73 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Across the district, a total of nine Grade-A tourist attractions welcomed 480,700 visitors during the 8-day holiday, reflecting a remarkable 129.86 percent increase.

Among them, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town adorned various dragon-shaped lanterns and hosted activities like New Year blessings and the God of Wealth parade, attracting a total of 327,100 visitors, a nearly 150 percent increase from the previous year.

Oriental Land featured decorations symbolizing dragons, along with dragon dance performances, accommodating 34,300 visitors, a 49.38 percent increase from last year.

Public cultural venues such as Qingpu Library, Qingpu Museum, Shanghai Zhonghua Printing Museum, and various subdistricts and towns also introduced distinctive traditional activities, drawing significant interest from both local residents and tourists.
