At the opening ceremony of BaiheStrawberry Culture Festival on March 21, Qingpu Customs issued the first outbound fresh fruit orchard registration certificate in thedistrictto Shanghai Shumei Fruit Co Ltd located in Baihe Town.

This marks the beginning of overseas sales for Baihe strawberries, which will further enhance the market influence and competitiveness of Baihe strawberries.

At the same time, the packaging workshop of Shumei Fruit is a scene of bustling activity, with 36 boxes of 15 kilograms of strawberry samples destined for export to Hong Kong being orderly packed.

Qingpu Customs is conducting inspections and supervision to ensure that the first batch of locally grown Qingpu strawberries smoothly reaches Hong Kong.

Baihe Town, known as the "Home of Strawberries," is located on the eastern edge of the Taihu Basin, with fertile and high-quality soil rich in organic matter, making it very suitable for the growth of fruits and vegetables.

The town has a 41-year history of strawberry cultivation, with the current strawberry planting area exceeding 6,300 mu, annual production exceeding 10,000 tons, and has obtained a national geographical indication registration certificate for agricultural products, with a brand value of 250 million yuan(US$34.67 million).
