Turkish Ebru art exhibition celebrates Shanghai-Istanbul ties Release time:April 24,2024

A unique art exhibition, "Traveling Clouds Drawing Paper Turkish Ebru Art Exhibition," has opened at the Qingpu District Museum to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Shanghai and Istanbul.

Ebru, a distinctive art form from Turkey, is renowned internationally for its exquisite craftsmanship and unique visual beauty. It is not only a shining pearl in the rich and colorful cultural and artistic treasury of Turkey but also a vivid manifestation of the cultural exchange between China and Turkey.

This art form was introduced to Turkey from China via the "Silk Road" during the Ottoman period in the 14th century, witnessing the exchange and integration of Eastern and Western cultures. In 2014, it was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The exhibition brings together more than 80 selected works of Turkish Ebru, each profoundly reflecting the essence of Turkish traditional culture and showcasing the originality of the artists.

An interactive experience area has also been specially set up in the exhibition hall, authentically recreating the working environment of a national treasure-level Turkish artist. This design not only allows the audience to appreciate the exquisiteness of Ebru but also immerses them in the creative environment of Ebru, providing an immersive artistic experience.

The exhibition will continue until May 12.
