Zhou Yang, the head of the construction project department of Qingpu Culture and Tourism Company, said that the second phase of the Qingxi Country Park's enhancement and renovation has entered a large-scale construction phase this year.

In terms of the improvement of the ecological wetland, the park will transform the diverse aquatic life and theterrestrialenvironment within the ponds to fully reflect the purifying function of the wetland.

In terms of the improvement of supporting facilities, a second phase of the visitor center will be constructed, and a wetland complex and a children's unpowered amusement park will be created to provide better services and a more enjoyable experience for visitors.

Among the seven major suburban parks in Shanghai, Qingxi Country Park is the only one characterized by its wetlands, with nearly one-third of its area covered by water surfaces.

The park takes the Dalian Lake as the core and connects the surrounding wetlands, lakes, forests, fish ponds, farmlands, rivers, and residential areas. The lake beaches and islands are crisscrossed, and the park is home to a diverse range of aquatic species, making it a natural gene bank for Shanghai's native aquatic species.
