Shaping the future: key projects launched in ‘Water Town Living Room’ project Release time:June 06,2024

Six key projects within the“Water Town Living Room,”a trial area of high-quality green development in the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Greenery Integration Demonstration Zone,have commenced, with a total investment ofabout10.78billion yuan(US$1.49 billion), mainly involving the construction of green ecological spaces and transportation infrastructure.

Among them, the Innovation Engine project and the eastward extension of Pugang Road are located in the Qingpu section of the“Water Town Living Room.”

The Innovation Engine project, located in Jinze Town, covers an area of about 199mu, with a total investment of about 4.3 billion yuan. The first phase of the project aims to create a "highland of science and innovation" and highlight a "new landmark," focusing on building a cluster area for green finance and digital technology.

The second phase will concentrate on smartresearch and development,cultural tourism and creative industries, commercial activities and dock function. It will also leverage the surrounding ancient townsand the Jiangnan water towncharacteristicstoset up a landmark theater forthe national premiere of Jiangnan-style dramasand digital technology shows.

The eastward extension of Pugang Road is located in the northern area of the“Water Town Living Room,”starting from Fenhu Avenue in Wujiang to theHuqingpingHighwayin Qingpu, with a total length of about 4.53 kilometers and a total investment of about 1.24billion yuan.

This project is one of the key roads in the“Water Town Living Room”road network system that facilitates cross-regional connectivity.
