New high-speed railway's Liantang Station nears completion Release time:June 18,2024
The Liantang Station of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, a major artery in the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, is set to be completed in July.
Once the railway is operational, the travel time from Shanghai to Huzhou will be reduced to just 40 minutes.
Located in Beidai Village, Liantang Town, Qingpu District, the Liantang Station covers an area of 4,500 square meters. Passengers will use the underpass entrances and exits located beneath the elevated station platform. The station layout features two platforms and four tracks, capable of handling over 1,000 passengers per hour during peak times.
Currently, the main structure of the station building is complete, and interior decoration is progressing, with plans to be operational by the end of the year.
The design of the Liantang Station is inspired by the concept of "Flowing Water, Charming Liantang," reflecting the unique flowing water forms of the Jiangnan region. The design uses simple architectural language to weave a modern transportation building image that is rich in contemporary features and regional symbols.
Liantang Town is an important area for collaborative development within the integrated demonstration zone. The significance of a high-speed railway connecting Shanghai, Suzhou and Huzhou extends beyond simply facilitating passenger and freight transport. It also significantly reduces the spatial-temporal distance between cities in the Yangtze River Delta, heralding new opportunities and developments.
