The main construction of the Xicen Station on the westward extension of Metro Line 17 has been completed. This project is the closest metro station to Huawei's Lianqiu Lake Research and Development Center.

The platform signs have been installed, and the station equipment is currently being calibrated.

The westward extension of Line 17 extends from the existing Oriental Land Station to Xicen Station, covering a total length of about 6.6 kilometers. It includes one station and one section, with the entire line being elevated.

The project commenced in June 2021 and is expected to be operational by the end of this year. Once operational, it will significantly enhance the accessibility and convenience of transportation in the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration area, facilitating travel for residents of Xicen, Liantang and Jinze in Qingpu District and providing great transportation convenience for the Huawei R&D Center and Xicen Science and Innovation Center.

The Xicen Science and Innovation Center aims to create a world-class science and innovation town, divided into east and west areas. Huawei's Qingpu R&D Center is located in the eastern area of the Xicen Science and Innovation Center and is expected to play a leading role in the industrial development of the demonstration area.
