Qingpu Bailian Outlets phase two construction kicks off this October Release time:August 29,2024

Zhaoxiang Town in Qingpu District and Shanghai Bailian Group Co., Ltd. inked an agreement on August 28 to launch the second phase of the Qingpu Bailian Outlets Plaza project, with construction slated to begin in October this year.

The expansion will take place on the east side of Jiawen Road, covering plots C8A-01 and C8B-01 in Zhaoxiang Town.

The new phase will feature 30,000 square meters of commercial space, with about 20,000 square meters dedicated to retail operations, and will introduce around 100 new shops. The project is also expected to add approximately 2,500 parking spaces, significantly enhancing the shopping experience.

Since opening 18 years ago, Qingpu Bailian Outlets has established itself as a top shopping destination for both Shanghai residents and visitors from across the country.

With multiple upgrades over the years, the Outlets now boast over 400 stores and 600 brands, making it the first and only outlet mall in China to surpass an annual sales milestone of 6 billion yuan (around US$843.168 million).

The second phase will continue to build on the Outlets' unique mix of commerce, sports, fashion, and art. Targeting the "new generation" and emphasizing "light socializing," the expansion aims to deepen the connection between consumers and their shopping environment, offering a more relaxed and engaging shopping and social experience.

Moreover, the new phase will complement the first phase, exploring the endless possibilities of the "micro-vacation" concept and forging closer emotional ties with shoppers. With a focus on immersive retail experiences, the expansion is set to unlock fresh commercial potential.

In recent years, Zhaoxiang Town in Qingpu District has been actively contributing to Shanghai's ambition of becoming a globally recognized and competitive international consumption hub. With the success of Bailian Outlets and other major retail players like Sam's Club, Zhaoxiang has become a key shopping destination for residents across Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta.

Seizing this opportunity, Zhaoxiang Town will further consolidate and enhance its commercial and trade development advantages, especially by proactively meeting new consumer demands and highlighting its "fast-moving consumer goods" industry characteristics.

Additionally, The town is committed to exploring new retail concepts and enhancing the shopping environment, creating a welcoming "slow life" atmosphere that will attract residents from across the district, city, and Yangtze River Delta.
