Xicen Science and Technology Park's second phase officially kicks off Release time:October 10,2024

The Xicen Science and Technology Park, a key project oftheQingpu demonstration zone, officially kicked off the construction of its second phaseon Tuesday.

The Xicenpark,breakingground in September 2020, islocated in the western part of Qingpu's JinzeTown. The park will be divided into two zones: the east zone will be Huawei's Qingpu R&D center, with over 30,000 Huawei employees expected to move in by November this year; the west zone will be the Xicen Science and Technology Center.

As a crucial component of theYangtze River Delta integrationdemonstration zone, the Xicenpark aims to create a vibrant innovation hub and world-class science and technology town in the Yangtze River Delta region.

According tothe constructor Yangtze River DeltaInvestmentCo Ltd, the second phase will cover an area ofabout498mu, featuring seven commercial and office plotsandfive residential plots. The project willfirst build a R&D center arounda lake area, with waterfront research and development facilities,asports center,acultural center,akindergarten,seven public roads, an energy center, the phase I of water town park and the river Improvement and water quality enhancement project.

During the construction process, the project will closelyfollowHuawei's R&D center's relocation and supporting requirements, focusing on integrated circuit design, artificial intelligence research, green low-carbon technologies and services. The project aims to create a core functional area for the Yangtze River Delta digital corridor while applying the "fourth-generation residential" design concept, creating an open-style lively mixed community that attracts global young scientists.
