Qingpu District unveils green innovations at Shanghai Architecture Expo Release time:November 05,2024

At the 2024 Shanghai International City and Architecture Expo, which opened on October 31, Qingpu District showcased its green and low-carbon construction concepts and achievements in creating a world-class reception area.

This includes the core area of the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Greenery Integration Demonstration Zone, known as the Water Town Living Room, and the planning and construction achievements of the Qingpu New City Central Business District.

The Water Town Living Room project centers around the origin point of the Yangtze River Delta, where the administrative boundaries of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang meet. Covering about 35.8 square kilometers, it is a functional model area jointly developed by these regions.

The Square Hall and Water Courtyard project, a core landmark of the Water Town Living Room, is the only project in the country that spans three regions and offers views of four provinces.

According to Yao Wei, deputy director of the Engineering Center at the YRD Integration Demonstration Zone New Development and Construction Company, the two pavilions located in Shanghai and Jiangsu, along with three cross-regional pedestrian corridors, are expected to be completed by the end of this year. The entire  Square Hall and Water Courtyard project is anticipated to be finished by mid-next year.

Another highlight of the Qingpu exhibition area is the Impression Qingcheng project, located in the Qingpu New City Central Business District. With a total construction area of about 500,000 square meters, all buildings in this project are designed and constructed to meet the standards of three-star green buildings and one-star smart buildings, following ultra-low energy consumption building standards. It serves as Qingpu's first concentrated demonstration area for ultra-low energy projects. Additionally, the Civic Center project in this area is Qingpu's first near-zero energy project.
