Qingpu enters high-speed rail era with new Liantang station Release time:November 26,2024

At 9:27 am on November 23, the first trial operation train, G55505, departed from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, heading towards Huzhou Station along the newly constructedShanghai-Suzhou-Huzhouhigh-speed railway. After a journey of over 40 minutes, the trial train arrived at Huzhou Station, signaling the advent of the high-speed rail era in Qingpu.

The trial operation will last for no less than a month, covering tests such as timetable parameter testing, fault simulation, emergency rescue drills and trial runs according to the schedule. These tests will simulate the line's official operating conditions, providing scientific data for the formal opening, which is expected to be ready by the end of December.

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and ends at Huzhou Station in Zhejiang Province. The total length of the line is about 163 kilometers, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The trial train reaches Huzhou Station in just over 40 minutes.

This railway is a significant project for the interconnection of infrastructuresbetween Shanghai, Suzhou and Huzhou, playing a crucial role in creating a "rail-connected Yangtze River Delta" and promoting economic, social and tourism development along the route.

The high-speed railway has a station in Qingpu District, Liantang Station, covering an area of 4,500 square meters. Passengers will use the entry and exit passages under the elevated station. The station layout includestwoplatforms andfourtracks, with a peak hourly passenger capacity of over 1,000. Once Liantang Station is operational, it will become more convenient for citizens to travel to Qingpu and for businesses to invest and operate in the area.
