Xicen Station a modern hub for innovation and connectivity Release time:November 28,2024
The west extension of Line 17 from Oriental Land Station to Xicen Station, the first new line in Shanghai's latest round of metro construction, has successfully passed the safety assessment for initial operation and is set to open soon.
Xicen Station boasts a prime location, adjacent to the Xicen Innovation Center and Huawei R&D Base. This three-level elevated island station features a spacious and bright interior with a well-designed layout. Natural light softly diffuses through side windows, and the efficient design lends Xicen Station a modern and elegant ambiance.
At Entrance 4 and the platform level of Xicen Station, three public art pieces—“Era Tide,” “Life Tide” and “Tech Tide”—are thoughtfully placed. Their unique color combinations and arrangements vividly capture the dynamic beauty of flowing trends and rippling water, successfully integrating the graceful and profound cultural essence of Jinze Water Town into the modern public space.
The west extension of Line 17 stretches over 6 kilometers from Oriental Land Station to Xicen Station, all constructed as elevated tracks.
The project incorporates an integrated monitoring system, connecting the station’s IoT network and digital operation system. This allows for the integration and control of various systems in daily station management via a single large screen.
Upon official opening, Line 17 will expand to 14 stations, better serving the development of the Xicen Innovation Center and surrounding areas. It will become a crucial transport hub, injecting new vitality into the rapid transit network of the Yangtze River Delta integration.
