Key stations on Shanghai's new demonstration zone railway line near completion Release time:December 06,2024
Shanghai's demonstration zone urban railway line recently reached a major construction milestone as the main structures of the Zhujiajiao and Xicen elevated stations have been topped out, laying a solid foundation for the next phase of steel structure and interior finishing work.
Zhujiajiao Station is located southwest of the intersection of Zhufeng Highway and Huqingping Highway in Qingpu District. It features a three-level elevated design with two island platforms and four tracks, and includes four entrances. The station spans about 220 meters in length with a main building area of about 27,300 square meters, constructed with a reinforced concrete frame.
The ground level of Zhujiajiao Station opens to outdoor public spaces, integrating the station with the urban environment. The surrounding planned areas include commercial, residential, agricultural, and green spaces.
The Xicen Station on the demonstration zone line, currently under construction, will allow transfers to the newly operational west extension of Metro Line 17. The two stations of Line 17 and the demonstration zone line run parallel from east to west, with integration being a key design and construction focus.
Additionally, construction has begun on three underground stations along the demonstration zone line, including Fangle Road Station, Qingpu New Town Station, and Watertown Living Room Station.
The demonstration zone line spans 52.4 kilometers, passing through the Minhang and Qingpu districts, with a total of 10 stations. Trains will operate at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Once completed, the project will establish a rapid transit framework connecting Shanghai's main urban area, Qingpu New Town, and regions such as Jiashan in Zhejiang Province and Wujiang in Jiangsu Province.
