Zhongshan Hospital's expansion in Qingpu nears completion Release time:January 16,2025
The Zhongshan Hospital National Medical Center Qingpu New Town campus, a major project of the national "14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)," made significant progress onWednesday, asthe logistics support building of the first phase has achieved structural topping out, marking a solid step towards the official opening of the nation's first comprehensive national medical center in 2026.
The project officially commencedconstructionon January 18, 2024. By November 2024, the foundation and basement structures were completed, transitioning to the above-ground main construction phase. The full structural topping out is planned for March 31 this year.
Currently, the above-ground construction of the comprehensive ward building and the outpatient and emergency buildingshas reached the fifth floor, with the logistics support building being the first to top out. From an aerial view, the initial shape of the hospitalhas emerged.
The first phase of the Zhongshan Hospital National Medical Center in Qingpu NewTownplans to construct 600 beds, along withahigh-quality clinical diagnosis and treatment center, a national public health center, and an international exchange and cooperation center.
It is expected to be operational in 2026, enhancing healthcare resources in Qingpu NewTownand contributing to the integration of medical services in the Yangtze River Delta region.
