The "Our Festival: Lantern Festival" event was held in Xujing Townon February 11, wherepeoplefrom China and abroad gathered to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
Talented performers from the Xujing Arts Troupe, Western International School, and theShanghaiNational Accounting Institute presented captivating performances, including Yue Opera, Shanghai Opera, rap, magic, and band performances.
The event also featured displays of Xujing's intangible cultural heritage, allowing international guests to experience iconic projects like Jiangnanstring and pipemusic, Xujingsoupstir-fry, andsingle-pieceQipao up close, as well as traditional folk arts like sugar painting, flower-turning, pitch-pot, and Chinese knots.
An expatriate calledWendysaidthat she hadlived in Xujing for over eight years andherchildren have grown up in China.Theylove Chinese traditional festivals, with their vibrant red colors and many fun activities.“Attending today's Lantern Festival event, I learned more about Chinese culture and felt very happy. On the same day, the Xujing Lidoway Club was officially inaugurated. Leveraging the multicultural hub ofLidoTown, it will provide an important platform for exchanges between Chinese and foreigners, becoming a key window for international friends to experience Chinese culture and for local residents to learn about the world.
Additionally, Xujing Town will launch the latest recruitment plan for "Pujiang Academy" this year, exploring the establishment of pilot classes for children of expatriates and specialty classes in business parks. This will be combined with cultural exchange forums like "Vibrant Xujing: Panlongancientcharm" and parent-child study activities, creating a more diverse public platform for classical Chinese education for young people.
