Qingpu District and Fudan University signed an agreement fordeepening cooperationon February 25to jointly establish the National Science Park of Fudan University (Qingpu Innovation Center), focusingon nurturing strategic emerging industry clusters such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial upgrading.

Jin Li,president of Fudan University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that the Qingpu Innovation Center will concentrate on the cutting-edge tracks in AI and biotechnology. It aims to create an innovation chain and ecosystem encompassing "university-driven innovation—concept verification—incubation services—industry aggregation."

Qingpu District DirectorJin Xiaomingpledgedthat Qingpu will mobilize district-wide efforts to advance the cooperation projects with Fudan University,effectively combining Qingpu's strategic, locational, and spatial advantages with the university's expertise, innovation, and talent advantages to further promote university-region collaboration.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will focus on building the National Science Parkof Fudan University (Qingpu Innovation Center) by developing a high-level innovation platform, constructing a comprehensive technology transfer ecosystem, and deepening industry-academia-research collaborative innovation.

The Qingpu Innovation Center will be designated as a branch of the National Science Park, establishing R&D incubation spaces and a global alumni innovation center to provide "zero-distance" support for technology transfer and alumni entrepreneurship. In its first phase, the center will focus on the integration of AIand biotechnology, covering cutting-edge areas like embodied intelligence and AI drug development, with plans to expand into integrated circuits, new energy, and new materials in the future.

The Qingpu Innovation Center aims to build a high-quality incubator, entrusting professional institutions for its operation and management. It will set up special funds for concept verification to support the transformation of research projects in the AI and biotechnologyfield, introduce market-oriented funds to accelerate industrialization, and promote the implementation of high-quality technology transfer projects in Qingpu through the sharing of intellectual and talent resources and the creation of innovation activity brands.
