Discovering Qingpu's new breathing greenway on two wheels Release time:March 11,2025

According to the Qingpu DistrictInformation Office,the construction for the Qingpu NewTownGreen Loop Greenway (Phase One) has been completed. With spring in full bloom, hop on your bike and explore this "breathing" water town greenway.

The project stretches fromtheBaimiRiverin the north totheDianpu River in the south, connecting ZhujiajiaoTown's Hengjiang Village, Shanhaiqiao Village, and Zhoudang Village; Yingpu Subdistrict's Tian'enqiao Village and Nanshe Village; and Xianghuaqiao Subdistrict's Dongxie Village and Jinmi Village, spanning a total length of 13.2 kilometers.

The Qingpu Green Loop is designed with four distinct thematic directions:fieldsin the north,portsin the east,forestsin the south, andpondsin the west. Thegreenwayproject (phaseone) falls within thewestarea. The main construction includes renovating the soil in the 100-meter-wide green areas, beautifying with plants, setting up rest stations and pedestrian bridges, and building small facilities with supporting water and electricity systems.

Along the route, three scenic sections are crafted, includingwetlands,hills and waters, andoriginalvillages of the water town. The completed greenway will become a landmark with distinct water town characteristics, offering a natural and rusticfun.

Qingpu's planned NewTownGreen Loop is divided into three layers: the main belt, the main loop, and the main spine. The "Main Belt" is the urban-rural integration zone,about3 kilometers wide, covering an area of about 82 square kilometers. The "Main Loop" is the blue-green interwoven zone, about 1 kilometer wide, covering 57.6 square kilometers, focusing on forest development and water system improvement. The "Main Spine" is the spatial connectivity zone,about100 meters wide, with a planned total length of 46 kilometers.
