At a recent film industry promotion event, Xujing Town unveiled ambitious plans to leverage its Hongqiao Overseas Development Collaboration Platform, helping local film-tech companies expand internationally while attracting moreenterprises to establish operations in its growing media cluster.

The Shanghai Culture & Film Industry Agglomeration Zone in Qingpu District has emerged as a powerhouse since its launch two years ago, now housing over 100 companies,70percentspecializing in cutting-edge film technologies.

The zone has become a testing ground for innovations like VP virtual studios, AI-generated content, and XR applications, while fostering collaboration through industry exchanges. Its facilities range from professional soundstages to post-production suites, hosting celebrity studios,including those of actors Huang Xiaoming and Lin Gengxin,and production teams behind acclaimed projects like”Blossoms Shanghai”and”Black Myth: Wukong.”

"Going global requires strategic preparation," noted Zhu Hangcheng, founder of Shanghai Hangcheng Culture & Arts CoLtd, whose company is developing overseas expansion plans while partnering with universities to cultivate specialized talent for Xujing's film-tech ecosystem.

The zone currently operates five public service platforms offering one-stop support for business registration, IP protection, talent training, and financing. These complement Qingpu District's incentives covering everything from office space subsidies to international exhibition participation.
