A state-of-the-art digital strawberry factory currently under construction in Qingpu District’s Baihe Town is set to begin operation in December, enabling a year-round supply of fresh strawberries and making“four-season freshness”a reality.

The project is regarded as a model of new quality productive forces in agriculture, centered on the concept of“using technology to reshape agricultural production logic.”Steel framework construction is now underway, and the structure of the 11-mu plant factory is already taking shape.

According to Yang Wenchao, manager of the Baihe Town Agricultural Company, the facility will adopt vertical farming techniques, replacing traditional weather-dependent cultivation with intelligent environmental controls. A smart lighting system will provide precise light energy, while a closed-loop water-fertilizer integration system will significantly improve resource efficiency,far surpassing the capabilities of conventional soil-based cultivation.

The project will also rely on data-driven operations and an IoT digital cloud platform, supported by sensor arrays that optimize crop growth parameters in real time. In addition, an intelligent drone patrol system will perform round-the-clock monitoring, achieving full-area coverage, multi-dimensional analysis, and fully automated decision-making.

Once operational in December, the Baihe Digital Strawberry Factory will produce and supply high-quality strawberries with zero pesticide residue 365 days a year. The annual yield per mu is expected to be 10 times higher than that of traditional planting methods, while the output value per mu is projected to be 30 times greater.
