The 2025 China Cosmetics Industry Data Release Conference was held in Qingpu on January 25. The event released annual data for China's fragrance and cosmetics sector, provided in-depth analysis of industry trends, andprecisely identified future market directions.
According to the authoritative statistics,China's cosmetics market reached a new high in 2025, withall-channel transaction volume surpassing 1.1trillion yuan(US$158.05 billion), a year-on-year increase of 2.83percent. Domestic brands continued to lead in competitiveness, raising their market share to 57.37percent. Online channels accounted for 65.36percentof the transaction volume, marking the end of the era dominated solely by "online-first" expansion andaccelerating the formation of a new integrated online-offline landscape.
In recent years, the cosmetics industry has been a key focus for Qingpu in cultivating its "beauty economy" and "fashion engine." Currently,fashion consumer goods are one of the key 50-billion-yuan industrial clusters being developed within Qingpu's "3+3+3" modern industrial system, with cosmetics serving as itscore track.
In 2025, Qingpu's cosmetics industrial output value approached 12 billion yuan, growing by a significant 11.9percent, and contributed nearly 30percentof Shanghai's total output in this sector.
