Jungheinrich’s Qingpu plant marks 20-year milestone Release time:January 29,2026
Amid the global trend toward high-end, intelligent, and green development in the industrial vehicle sector, the Jungheinrich plant in Qingpu has evolved from a simple assembly workshop into an integrated smart base for R&D, production, and operations over the past two decades.
The transformation not only reflects the company's own leapfrog development but also mirrors the continuous upgrading of high-end manufacturing enterprises and the growing strength of industrial clusters in Qingpu District.
On the morning of January 23, the company's Shanghai branch held a grand celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of its Qingpu plant.
As a global leader in the industrial vehicle industry, Jungheinrich embodies the profound heritage of German engineering precision. In 2006, with strategic foresight from its German headquarters and strong confidence in the Chinese market, the company established its Qingpu plant, marking the beginning of its deep engagement in China.
Today, the Jungheinrich Qingpu plant has expanded from its original single assembly building into a modern, intelligent campus covering 60,000 square meters, achieving a leap from basic forklift assembly to independent R&D and innovation. Driven by a relentless pursuit of exceptional quality, the plant has built a comprehensive R&D, procurement, and operational system. Its products not only serve the domestic market but are also exported worldwide, earning customers' trust through reliable performance.
As an outstanding representative of foreign-invested high-end manufacturing in Qingpu, Jungheinrich has consistently upheld the rigorous and pragmatic development philosophy of German enterprises. By deeply integrating global advanced technical standards and mature management experience with localized, efficient operations, the company continues to unleash strong development momentum.
In 2025, both the plant's output value and profit reached their highest levels in two decades, delivering an impressive performance and repeatedly setting a benchmark for regional industrial development.
In recent years, Jungheinrich has located its global OEM Center in Qingpu, further integrating into the domestic supply chain system. By leveraging its advantages as a key node in the industrial chain and its role in driving innovation, the company has injected powerful energy into the development of Qingpu's high-end equipment manufacturing cluster.
"Our steady growth over the past 20 years would not have been possible without the strategic guidance of our German headquarters, the care and support of the Qingpu District government, the collaboration of our partners, and, most importantly, the dedication of every employee," said Xue Jing, general manager of Jungheinrich Qingpu plant. "This collective synergy forms the solid foundation for our continued success."
