The Innovation and IntelligenceEngine (Phase I) in theWater TownLiving Room passed its completion acceptance inspection on March 31, marking the establishment of the first industrial function carrier in the area.
The project is now entering a new stage of enterprise settlement, industrial implementation and integrated development.
As one of the three major functional clusters of theWater TownLiving Room,a key project in the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone during the 15th Five-Year Plan period(2026-2030),the Innovation and IntelligenceEngine is located in the Qingpu section of the demonstration zone, adjacent to theSquare HallWater Courtyard, a landmark at the geographic origin point of the Yangtze River Delta.
The overall project covers 199 mu (13.3 hectares) with a total floor area exceeding 350,000 square meters, focusing on high-quality industrial projects such as high-level incubators, new R&D institutions and functional headquarters offices. The completed Phase I has a floor area ofabout45,000 square meters, featuring eight R&D office buildings designed to meet the needs of tech-innovation enterprise headquarters, R&D and premium commercial services across the Yangtze River Delta region.
The project adheres to a green, low-carbon model integrated with Jiangnan-style cultural elements, following an ecology-first approach throughout the process to create an industrial space that blends modern sci-tech innovation with the cultural heritage of the water town.
Investment promotion efforts, launched simultaneously, have already connected with innovation platforms in the Yangtze River Delta as well as in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
Phase II of theInnovation and IntelligenceEngine has a total floor area of about 220,000 square meters, and its main structure has already been topped out. Phase II will feature a more diversified range of functions, focusing on innovation and R&D, cultural tourism and creative industries, commercial activities and marina facilities, with the goal of building a cradle of innovative applications unique to the water town.
