Qingpu summer tourism heats up during Dragon Boat Festival Release time:June 23,2026
During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Qingpu District hosted a diverse range of activities including China-chicnight tours, archaeological exhibitions, and sports events, attracting a total of 421,500 visitors,a year‑on‑year increase of 12.94percent. Total tourism transaction value reached 368 million yuan(US$54.28 million), up 14.62percentcompared with the same period last year.
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town launched its highly anticipated “Han‑Style Enchanted Night” tour, featuring ancient‑style decorations. The immersive experience combined Hanfu parades, intangible cultural heritage workshops, and waterfront light shows, attracting young visitors and international tourists. The town received a total of 93,500 visitorsduring the holiday, including 26,600 inbound tourists.
PanlongTiandi presented its “Lotus Moon · Night Tour Festival,” featuring a Dragon Boat Festival themed parade, a summer upgrade of the water market, and a water lily and lotus exhibition, stimulating nighttime consumption with the aesthetics of a Jiangnan water town.
The Qingpu District Museum continues to host the “Eastern Star: Archaeology in Qingpu and the Exploration of the Origins of the Yangtze River Delta Civilization” exhibition, which runs until September 13. The exhibition brings together more than 200 precious artifacts from 10 museums across the Yangtze River Delta, including a jade cong with the Liangzhu spirit‑god emblem, presenting a complete 6,000‑year cultural thread from Majiabang to Songze to Liangzhu.
The 13th Shanghai Student Dragon Culture All‑RoundCompetition was held at Oriental Land, featuring dragon boat racing, dragon and lion dance performances, and creative kite flying.
In addition, four major commercial hubs – Qingpu Bailian Outlets, PanlongTiandi,UNIVankeMall, and Wuyue Plaza – together with Sam’s Club, generated over 100 million yuan in sales, attracting more than 800,000 visitors.
To further meet visitors’ demand, Qingpu will launch a second batch of 10 million yuan in consumption vouchers for the summer season, upgrade the “Qingpu Pass” with three‑day Yangtze River DeltaDemonstration Zonepasses, one‑day ancient town passes, and two‑daypasses forsenior visitors, while also optimizing multilingual signage and tax‑refund procedures for international travelers.
