Situated on the west of the downtown of Qingpu (8.5 kilometers), Dianshan Lake lies between Qingpu District and Kunshan City and ranks the largest lake in Shanghai. In the shape of a gourd, Dianshan Lake covers a total area of 62 square kilometers, with 47.5 square kilometers locating in Qingpu. It is the source of Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai, representing an important area of water conservation and ecological conservation in Shanghai. The lake is as clear as a bright mirror, while trees are hidden beneath a veil of mist, which knits the water scenery in the south of the Yangtze River. Abounding with fishes, shrimps, and crabs, Dianshan Lake is the largest aquaculture base and an ideal tourist attraction in Shanghai.
